Half way there...

Since I started my goal late in the year, I'm just aiming for 30 books in a year now.  If I make it to 50, that would be great, too.  We'll see!

~Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
~Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella
~The Saving Graces by Patricia Gaffney
~Love And Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim Fay and Charles Fay
~The Summer House by Jean ( Read more... )

I'm currently reading "Daniel Isn't Talking" and have "A Girl Named Zippy" on my nightstand, you didn't like it? Should I not waste my time?

It's not that I didn't like it, it just wasn't one of my faves. It was entertaining. A different kind of read-like a collection of stories about the same girl and her family/town she grew up in. It was funny in parts. I say go for it!

What's "Daniel Isn't Talking" about???

I couldn't find anything at the library today. :( I settled on "The Undomestic Goddess".

Daniel Isn't Talking (based on a true story, I think) is written by a mother who learns her 3 year old son is austic and what the news does to her family/marriage and her quest to get him to talk/play/"be normal". Probably not the best book for me to be reading right now ;), but it's good; I'm probably 2/3 the way through. I also finished "The Thirteenth Tale" by D. Setterfield which was pretty good too. It's about a famous author (who nobody knows anything about) who is on her death bed who summons a "nobody" writer to come and write her biography and goes through her life story piece by piece. This one was good too; there's some mystery to it.

My friend made a movie out of The Kite Runner. It'll be out in November!
