finally did it

Oct 01, 2006 08:26

My parents came over to visit me this weekend. And Friday night I finally told them of the engagement. Talk about stressful! Dad congradulated me without pause. Mom wanted to know plans, and complained about not knowing Rick. Later, she was upset that she had no idea what a cantor is, or how much you would earn, or job flexibility and options. sigh ( Read more... )

This is all good news. Congratulations! (with a 't', silly) I'm glad everything's working out on that front. ...and they've accepted him, so that's one big albatross of your shoulders.

24 points, huh? That doesn't sound like much. And does 24 points correspond to the intake for a diet & exercise plan, or a diet- no exercise plan? This all sounds good (not that I'd ever call you overweight, much less fat), but if you start buying those frozen dieter's dinners, I'm not talking to you :-P

Oh yeah, and I can't come home for Columbus day weekend do to time constraints. I'm thinking one of the weekends in early November at this point...we'll see...

it's just total points. I walk 40 minutes a day, so that will help. and no, I'm not buying special meals. I cook, but will cook more carefully now

Oh Peggy! I can't believe your mom called you fat. You're sexy and voluptuous--I'm sure Rick would agree with me on that. ;) If you feel really strongly about losing weight (for your own reasons, not your mom's), obviously that's your business, but please please don't do anything dangerous. Like skipping meals. That's just shooting yourself in the foot anyway, since your body retains more calories when you skip because it goes into starvation mode. I hope you were kidding about "no lunch." :/

well, I wasn't kidding about no lunch. When you have brunch at 11, and dinner at 5, there's not much point for lunch. and weight watchers adapts to a normal life. I get light turkey sandwhiches instead of pb&j. no worries. I'm not one to skip a meal. ;)

dont i love how tactful our mother is. but you and i both know she always has the best intentions when she's a bitch. So good luck with the points, they're supposed to be a really successful option. also, can i just say i can totally see mom being just as drunk as you to call you drunk in that laughing way. i love when shes tipsy lol.

am i really about to get a brother? holy shit.

Congratulations on being engaged! That's so exciting! And remember in 8th grade when I got in trouble with Mrs. Kirkpatrick for calling you 'phat'? Of course, she didn't know I meant pretty hot and tempting. Not that I'm hitting on you or anything. Um...right so now it's awkward, so I'll just say congrats again and ummm....bye!
