So.... I have had little reason to update tis thing lately. None of my old lj friends comment anymore, and if they are posting, they aren't doing so publicly where I can read them so..... well that's part of the reason I haven't updated

The problem at GT is 1) You can't tell students to deal with it or leave in so many words. and 2) Admissions knows how many people will be coming ahead of time. But clearly housing and the academic departments do not. You'd have figured that the math department (who complained loudly last year) would have been smart enough to plot a trend line and plan ahead, but they didn't. So the final problem? The institute isn't communicating the future needs to the various organizations and the institute isn't planning far enough into the future. Neither of which is admissions' fault. But out of pure curiosity, how early does admissions find out how many students will need to be accepted for the next year?
