In all honesty I don't remember. I remember when I got my first walkman, I was like 11 or 12. My dad gave it to me along with a Michael W Smith tape, I just looked it up and it was his 2nd ablum (Michael W Smith 2). I'm sure I bought tapes before/after that but they just don't stick out at me. I remember excitedly collecting the stickers on the back, the buy 3 get 1 free or something. I also remember buying Steve Taylor tapes and hiding them from my mom because she didn't think it was "Christian" enough.

As for concerts...gosh I'm trying to remember. I think my first official 'concert' was Sandi Patty. Does it count if it was at church with no ticket involved?

How can Christian music not be "Christian" enough?

Does it not say JESUS enough in the lyrics or something?

Pretty much stuff along those lines. My mom would listen to all my music and have to approve of it. That's why I was so glad when I finally got a walkman (not my first one) that had a radio tuner in it cuz then I could listen to whatever I wanted and she wouldn't know about it. ;)

My first tape was a-ha hunting high and low. I loved Morton Harkett from aha! My first concert was Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl. They were playing with OMD, Thomas Dolby and Wire. Good times , good times.

Ooh, I was so into DM in h.s.! I'm jealous that you've seen them live.

Nothing too embarassing for your "firsts", that's nice to be able to say!

So now you will all truly realize how much older than you I am.
First album--was a record--Rick Springfield, Working Class Dog. Me and my sis bought it and we had to return it like 6 times because it had a scratch EVERY time. Finally got a good one though. I think we had it about a year before we even turned it over and listened to the b side!
First concert--Steve Taylor, I Want to be a Clone.

I guess there is a bit of an age difference...I never think of you as older than me. I just assume everyone is MY age, but that's because I'm self-centered.

I know their names and I'm sure I would know their songs if I heard them, but I can't think of them from off the top of my head.

I got into music kinda late so it was my first "CD", which was Kriss Kross, I'm pretty sure. Remember them, backwards clothes and all? I should bring that back.

I had a Kriss Kross single cassette that had "Jump" on the A side and I don't know what on the B side because I always just rewound and rewound it. I would listen to it on my walkman when I was warming up for track practice in 7th grade. Oh man.

Bring back the backwards overalls dude! If I see you on Sunday, you better be sporting them!

I don't own overalls... nor anything denim for the matter, but I would be down with wearing everything possible backwards.
