Tree Branch on Car

No one was hurt. Looks like minimal damage to the car. Police and insurance company notified. Awaiting instructions on removing the branch - tree belongs to house behind condo. -
New Theme
Trying a new theme here, a little fall redecorating!

Third Grade
We had back to school night on Tuesday. Third grade is a big change from second. They start reading to learn (not learning to read) and dealing with teaching to the the test (NJ Ask here). Alan seems to be doing well, but he does seem to have more work to do in class and for homework.
Did anyone else find such a change?

Hurricane
The hurricane came.
I prepared with water, filling the bath tub, gathering all the batteries, stocking up on food, even a hidden toy for Alan in case of no power driven amusements (cell phone, DS, tv, internet etc). Even got sandbags from the town and bagged my sunken patio door.

co worker did and was upset so went home. all is well here.

Reading
I'm reading The Hunger Games trilogy now. I've read the first book, am 1/2 way through the 2nd book and have the third waiting. (I was derailed for a little while since our library system sent the 3rd book before the 2nd one, I had to wait for the 2nd one to come in ( Read more... )
