Actually, I saw Ashley a few times and enjoyed Leslie so much more. Ashley has a nice voice, but her Cosette was vapid at best.

I enjoyed Leslie's acting, I just don't think she had the range for Cosette.

When did you see her? She got really sick during the summer of '05 and was out a LOT -- which was how I saw Ashley -- and apparently didn't sound the same when she came back in the fall. (Which is really too bad.)

I thought Regan was wonderful, but some of the...ahem, preservations of her are on unfortunate days. And AFAIK she was the only one in the US.

I can think of two who didn't use wigs: Rena Strober and Christeena Michelle Riggs. But both are brunette.

I'm so glad they gave her the wig. WHY didn't they give Regan Thiel a wig? Cosette =/= blonde and Fantine =/= brunette, darnit.

Well, I figure if they're going to do color-blind casting, they better not do wig-blind casting, too. ;-) I shudder to imagine what Joan Almedilla, Melba Moore, Joanna Ampil or Tonya Dixon would've looked like in shimmery yellow tresses. ;-)
