Oh wow. What a ride. So desperate and dark and also tender.

(p.s. I don't think I understand what the title means. Would you mind explaining?)

Thank you so much! It was a hard story to write, in many ways, but also easy, because it all just flowed from one event to another. I'm so glad you enjoyed and took the time to review. "Piss Tank" is just slang for a drunkard ;-)

Oh, this is gorgeous. I haven't seen a Lily/Severus fic this good in so long, and it's been my OTP for about eight years.

This is wonderful, and it does the ship so much justice. You don't go overboard, don't try to make it into more than it can be - it just is.

Favorite lines:

“You’re drunk.”

He bows a little.

“I am.”

*

He shrugs and smiles, even wider and she’s suddenly reminded of that day in the park when he first kissed her, how sweet it was, how right, how she felt she’d never have someone love her that much again.

And I love their last lines, how he begs her not to leave, and she says she won't and that she loves him. And oh, the last paragraph. Oh.

Thank you so very much. This was my first foray into the Lily/Severus pairing, and I signed up initially because I needed to challenge myself. I honestly didn't think I could pull this off: I'm more of a Snape/Hermione girl, myself. But, once I got going, I couldn't stop, and I think I'm more than a little in love with these two now, despite their tragic outcome. Thanks for your lovely feedback. I really appreciate it :)

Wow, your first time writing for them? That's even more astonishing. I hope you write more!

Tl;dr territory but whatever. randomneses May 20 2010, 23:06:36 UTC
IDK if I'm PMSing or if its because I was listening to sad Smiths songs while reading this but oh man, the tears were coming down at the end, man. Like, legit eyes burning, clutching my heart and going GUH.

This was just so well written and good for many reasons. First and foremost, I'm so on edge lately when I read Snape/Lily fics because lately there is always bound to be something that pisses me off, primarily involving Lily's characterization. But I enjoyed Lily in this a great deal. You could tell that even after their friendship ended that she still cared for him, which I think is realistic. This wasn't about her regretting anything she did in the friendship, it was about how she still manages to care about him as a longtime friend despite the state of their relationship.

And Snape was just so damn naturally written. He felt right somehow. Like how he really would have been as a teenager. Thank you for not writing his speech as if he has an anal probe 24/7. He sounds like a real person. Drunk!Snape was realistic too ( ... )

Wow. I'm pretty much blown away by this review, and probably won't be able to formulate a response to match it, lol, but I'll certainly try. It's Monday morning and I haven't had enough tea (or vodka) to rev up my brain, but wow. I mentioned above that I originally signed up for this exchange simply to challenge myself. I've always shipped Snape/Hermione and have a hard time picturing him with anyone else, even though he and Lily are canon, to a point. But once I found their rhythm, started to inhabit their adolescent minds, their story took over and I can now honestly say this is one of my personal favourite stories, and one of the easiest/hardest to write. Easy, because it just flowed out of me, and hard, because of the subject matter ( ... )

Nicely done! I really believe in this characterisation of Snape. :)

Oh, yes...I'm weeping now. Wonderfully done, mystery author (and I'll be adding this to my recs page after the reveals)

Thank you! I wept a bit when I wrote it, too. I'm honoured you'd like to rec it. Thanks :)
