I was reading an article written by Natalie Grant and it started out with this verse. And she mentioned how easy it was to act humble but how hard it is to be humble

ugh....sometimes its scary to pray for humility....cuz maybe God wont just make it click in your mind, maybe He'll put you through a situation to humble you!

...when i read that verse...i immediately think of Jesus' example, how He gave up His divine position in the heavens with God, to be put in the form of a man to join US here.
if thats not the ultimate example...i don't know what is.

sometimes its scary to pray for humility

absolutely!! for a while i kept hoping i'd humble myself before God did it for me, since I knew it wouldn't be pretty when He did it. but now i realize that He's the only one that can do it. i realized, after reading that article, that there really is a difference between acting humble and actually being humble. i just hope that.. when he does humble me, its not so painful. then again that's probably a pride issue

and you're darn right, that truly is the ultimate example. its like, Jesus did it to show us that we could do it too, you know?
