do you ever read someone's argument or complaint or whatever and somewhere near the end they say something like, "now i'm not looking for your pity." half the time i see this and the idea of pity hadn't developed in my mind. and at these times, i despise the author of such argument for being presumptuous, and even pretentious. and then you have
