fair enough, but i've never taken any photography courses, and i have no idea what i would be framing. just taking a picture of a pylon seems pretty mundane to me, so i take the outskirts of one to set ambiance.

i take what looks good to me, i don't put any process or law behind it. that sort of thing, in my eyes, would just ruin the poetry of the photos.

personally, i think that a photo is as unique as a poem or song. a lot of people don't like particular songs, you don't like my particular photos, which is fine.

i can see what you mean about emptiness, after taking another look, but i never did before. i reckon your photography class has tried to teach you what a photo has to be, otherwise it sucks, which is like in lit when teachers tell you you have to have a certain opinion or your wrong. although my photos don't live up to your process laden opinion, they are just fine in mine.

i have been taught that there is a process to photography - this doesnt mean u have to follow that process or that if u do follow the process ure photography will be good, its just things u can do and try and see if they work.

I liken it to poetic techniques as u use similies and personifaction to guide ure readers to the greater meaning of ure poetry.

Well in this ure using photographic techniques such as framing and leading lines to guide ure onlooker to the greater object or wotever u wish to highlight in the photo.

What im trying to say is u seem to have a lot of talent if u tried these things despite all ure scepticism and purist thoughts u might find that ure photos turn out better.
