Most people here wear shoes inside the house. Even at my mom's, where they have carpeting that will get stained and stuff.

I personally take my shoes off as soon as I'm through the door, but that's for a number of reasons. XD

The shoe thing is a house to house basis. I really don't like wearing shoes inside the house, but most people don't care

I don't like it either. The floor gets covered in dirt and bacteria and stuff, yuck. :/

Most people wear shoes in their homes here, I think there's hardly anyone that doesn't lol. But I take my shoes off at home, it's not a YOU MUST REMOVE YOUR SHOES TO COME IN THE HOUSE sort of thing though.

Well, we don't always wear them but it's still considered ok if we do wear shoes inside

I didn't even know 'adsorb' was a word LOL

Never watched White Collar but wouldn't mind :)

I still get surprised that people wear shoes inside, lol. ~Cultural differences~! ;)

A lot of people don't! Even though absorb is used all the time, lol. :)

It's a really fun show. They're all BFF with each other, I love shows like that. :D

Lol, I have a friend who's Norwegian and they have the same rule. We were in a hotel here in England and she was just as surprised as you when I was walking around the room with my shoes on xD Is there a reason for that rule? Or is it just considered polite or something? :)

It's because of hygiene. Even if your shoes look clean, they aren't (have you ever tried wetting a paper towel and dragging it on the underside of a shoe that's been outside? Eww.), so there's bacteria and stuff getting dragged inside the house...
And I'm kinda wondering what do people do when they want to put their feet up on the sofa or the bed or the table? You'd have to take off your shoes first and stuff, I guess? Hmmm. :/
