• Game of Thrones had a nice ep this week. [Spoiler (click to open)]Although I bet anything would seem nice in comparison to last weeks episode ... I'm relieved we're finally past my least-favorite part of the books series - last weeks wedding - it's all uphill from here in my mind, haha. This episode was a bit less finale-y than the previous finales, in my opinion, but Read more... )

Thought the GoT episode was pretty underwhelming this week, but I guess that's par for the course with this show, the finales are always mostly set-up for next season. Less of a good final scene, certainly, the best and possibly only good thing about that Dany scene was the score. I feel like they could have dug up SOMETHING more exciting to end on.

I haaaaaated the camera crew episode of H5-0, I fastforwarded through it. XD

Yeahhh, and there actually is something better they could have ended on, but it's a thing that would have been too time-consuming and we wouldn't have gotten to see any other locations.*
And they always show all the characters in the finale, so they needed something short, I guess?
I'm happy that they ended with a Dany shot. I reinforces my firm belief that she's the main character, haha.

I just love the "camera crew follow main characters around for an ep" trope. I know I'm in the minority in this. XD

ETA: *wait, no, there's something else too. something short and awesome that everyone has speculated would be the ending. Why didn't they use that scene???

[Spoiler (click to open)]Lady Stoneheart? (I keep getting spoiled. ><) Although if that's what you mean then I can sort of understand not using it, as it would take away slightly from the shock-value of the RW.

Heyy, before I forget: You watch Orphan Black right? Because it's AWESOME and everyone's jumping on the bandwagon (as they should) and you especially will absolutely love it 100% for sure.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Yeah, that was the short thing I thought they'd end on. And yeah, it does take something away from the RW, but still. Like, how the whole Lady Stoneheart thing starts - Tully's funeral rites is to send the body on a boat down the river and set the boat on fire (which we were introduced to this season) and the Freys dump Cat's body in the river as a mockery of that burial rite - similar to how they desecrated Rob's body (which we saw in this episode). And her body is found by the brotherhood without banners (also introduced to us this season) and Throros begs the lord of light to return her to life.

So there's a lot of things leading up to the Lady Stoneheart scene that we were introduced to this season. Casual viewers might forget those things, right?

So I think they should have had that scene this episode!

I do not watch Orphan Black. But I did want a new show to watch! I was thinking Hannibal, but Orphan Black sounds good. I WILL WATCH. :D

This episode had some lovely interaction with characters that don't normally interact, the Varys and Shae scene and the Gendry and Davos scene were both really interesting to me. My least favorite part in the books is Jon and Ygritte's tragic end, so, there's that.

Their love story is so sad. :(

I really liked the Gendry and Davos scenes. It was fun to learn more about both those character's background, too.

I'm kind of very much not over the Red Wedding. I mean: I'm still not quite over it in the books (which I read two-three years ago, go figure) so to have it so visually on my screen is pure agony. So I'm not sure if I'm relieved or sad that the season is over. GoT, I never thought this show would give me so many feelings! :/
