David was one of the few people I met who was both brilliant and funny. Almost all of my english teachers at Sprayberry would always make references regarding what an incredible thinker and writer he was.

Back when I was a freshman, Mr. Hamburg and I were talking about him. I believe Hamburg said something along the lines of "He writes better than my college professor."

To say I was surprised when I heard he had been killed would have been a lie. Recently he'd been getting into shit very much unlike him, the kind of shit that could easily wind up with someone dead, hurt, or in jail. His passing came as no surprise, but he was one of those unbelievably charismatic people. He was an asshole to anyone he didn't like, but once you got to know him you'd know he wasn't all that serious about it. David had the potential, to be anything his heart desired. To come to find that he was killed on the side of the road is a bit depressing.

I am deeply saddened to read of David's death. I had the pleasure of working at J.J. Daniel when David was a student there and we had many conversations. He was always an interesting and engaging person. I liked David a lot and was always glad to see him. Not all educators felt the same. He truly could have been anything he chose to be and would have been excellent with it. I am deeply saddened by this news. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. a. frensley

dude, that kid used to come to my church sometimes with his sister. i can't believe that. he was amazing at pretty much everything he wanted to be: music, writing, being hilarious...damnit, damnit all, what the hell is wrong with people? david never hurt anyone, you know? he was maybe a little confused, but deep down his heart was headed towards the right place. shit.
