Let me tell ya something James...no one is perfect. News flash...we don't always do the right thing, we screw up, we intentionally or unintentionally hurt people. We have sinned. You can choose to forgive them for what they do or not. That's on you. People are never going to be good 100% of the time. And I know that you will say "I'm not looking for 100% of the time, I'm looking for at least 50% or even 25%." Maybe you are asking too much. The best thing to do in these situations is to set the example. You do the right thing 100% of the time and perhaps they'll follow through. If they do, great.
You've done a great thing by going into the Army and you're still doing art. You got out of Florida and for that I'm sure we're all proud of you. I wish you the best, I really do. Everyone deserves to be happy. I hope you find it.
