I've sold my soul.

I just submitted my application for Teach For America.

Don't bother citing The Onion article.  I've almost got it memorized.

Well, I'm off to self-medicate and listen to The Cure's Disintegration.  Think about me when you achieve sexual release.

Teach for America shoves under-trained teachers into the most difficult situations in the country. Then, they leave schools in desperate need of experienced teachers with a ridiculous turnover rate because of the teachers who finish their 2 years and then quit, so that they have a constant flow of under-qualified and new teachers.
I don't know what the Onion article says, but that's what I have to say.

If you get accepted and you need teacher resources, let me know. Maybe I will have something of use. Plus, I am friends with one of the persons in charge of the Texas program, if that ever becomes of use to you.

The only reason I applied was because I have four years of teaching experience and didn't feel like I'd be making a bad decision for the kids I'd teach.

Many of the teachers picked have no business teaching. I would not be one of them given experience.

The problem with TFA is that they pick the leadership-y types which often burn out and suck at teaching, rather than those that would actually be good teachers. However, in your case, you're pretty much both, so they love you. And so do I. Good luck.

I was thinking about Teach For America this weekend myself.

I know I didn't call. I pretty much had one of the worst weekends on record. I apologize and promise to do a better job at the whole calling back thing.
