My weekend project

So, this weekend I took a painted enameling workshop. The idea is, basically painting with glass. Very finely ground up bits of colored glass that you mix with oil. It was amazing. I don't see class schedules there, but I know she teaches cloisonne as well (and other enamel techniques) and has classes every season.

Wow, nice job! Wish we'd gotten to use the paste method in class... we were just tapping the glass onto the metal so we didn't have much control over detail. Yours looks awesome! I love cloisonne, it's so fun and easy as far as metalwork generally goes....

ooh! what kind of class did you take. I'd love to do a cloisonne class some time. We definitely did a bottom layer with no paste, and then did the "painting" over the top.

ZOMGZ SHINY SHINY!!!

The only enamel I've ever done is nail enamel (which does OK in a pinch, but you'd better come up with a design that uses a lot of pink).
