Love's Secret by William Blake

Sep 07, 2004 13:40

Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind does move
Silently, invisibly.

I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart;
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears,
Ah! she did depart!

Soon as she was gone from me,
A traveler came by,
Silently, invisibly
He took her with a sigh.

Blake is my second-favorite poet of all time.

I'm loving this poetry kick. It makes my friends page look so scholarly.
