Tears on a Tuesday in November.

"So, right now, we have President Elect Obama"

McCain said of President Elect Obama:
That he was able to inspire so many people who felt that they had little impact...      He was.  He is.

I simply cannot stop crying.  I never thought that I'd see this, though I dreamt that I would.
I love this country.  I always have.

I'm right there with you, sweets.

I've been in tears for about an hour now. My head is KILLING me. Finally. Finalllllly!

Maya Angelou is a wise wise wise woman.

I can't wait to hear his speech and I was really happy with what McCain had to say. I think he has a lot of integrity and I'm happy that he didn't do any mudslinging.

OH, R!! I AM SO PLEASED!!!!

I agree. I've always liked McCain and have respect for him; his speech was wonderful and I'm glad that he gave this such a clean ending.

Good speech. I love that he was pointedly talking about non-partisanship.

Meanwhile, Prop 8 in California doesn't look good....

I have to go to sleep.

Hmmm...Maya Angelou quotes...should I tease you now about her deliberate speaking style?

We are certainly in sync with the patriotic sentiment. After spending 15 hours as a poll worker yesterday with my election colleagues who were predominantly "Greatest Generation" WWII veterans, it was inspiring to see how passionately people voted. We had 80% turnout with endless pages in registration books totally filled with signatures. For me, the computer geek type who tends to have an active conspiracy theory based imagination, turning on our electronic voting machines at 6 am and then powering them down as the poll closed, gave me that bit of peace that my vote and my neighbors votes were counted. Our conservative "hamlet" ultimately went for McCain but the turn out of new voters for Obama was remarkable.
