The following is an email conversation.
Subject: the tattoo?

[au note: to explain, my mom uses my facebook account, with my blessing, to look at photos of my friends.  My profile update was "I now have two tattoos"]

Mom: where and what?
Me:  someone's been on facebook?  a small cross.  on my arm.
Mom:  show me..... no wonder you haven't seen San

LMAO!!! Btw, why did you choose the cross?

I wanted something meaningful to me. My other tattoo is the zen symbol for 'chaos', which I chose because I get panicked when things slip out of my control - I wanted to remember that a little chaos in my life is a good thing.
The cross means a lot of diferent things. Honestly, a big part of why I chose it was my embracing my Christianity; almost "coming out" as a Christian. I don't hide the fact that I'm gay, in fact most days it's pretty obvious since I'm kinda stereotypical in many ways, but in recent years I've found it harder to be proud of my faith in the same way.
I'm outspoken about one aspect of my life that has great impact and influence over who I am and how I live, now I'm re-embracing the other influencial aspect.
