About this reposting to fb/twitter nonsense.

Sep 02, 2010 23:18

I've disabled it and have no intention of ever doing it.

Just FYI for those of you concerned. :)

I find the whole concept bizarre, especially since I keep my on-line forums somewhat separate. Yet by default they persist in leaking to each other!

Slightly more eyeballs means many more CPMs collected, and FB/Twitter postings get those slightly more eyeballs for essentially zero. It will keep happening until more services can get by without CPM-based advertising.

Here, here! Bloody Twitter is for the Birds anyway! A Medium for Short Attention Span Theater, or rather, those more concerned with a commercial soundbyte reality, rather than one that would even take five minutes of their time. Good for you, girl. Shave it down to the bare essentials, FB and LJ

I think twitter's a bunch of rot. I'm not sure I consider FB any better - but that said I keep the "lives" seperate. Things posted to FB don't go on LJ and vice versa - and if FB never learns my LJ account name, I'll be happy.
actually as much as possible I'm keeping my legal name off of my LJ. I like to write sometimes about stuff that won't haunt me later ;)

Cool, Thanks.
Someone in my journal brought it to my attention so I decided to bring it to the attention of others as well.
Kinda of a scary thought ...
I like to keep things separate.
