When I see a long, slow-moving scene with complete silence or just light ambient sounds, I (and my Mom) would guess that it has to be a Chinese, Korean or Japanese movie (on the East Asian channel). Very unlikely to be from HK, since HK movies must have some kind of obvious motion onscreen and something on the soundtrack; if not conversation then at least some music or chatter. Example: an old lady shuffling silently and slowly down a long, narrow passageway with walls on both sides.

Yup, because Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese would made these "arthouse" flicks.

Actually, I quite like such films from Taiwan and China, they have a kind of "xiang tu" (soil from the homeland) feel.
