The Canberra Chronicles-Volume One

Jul 10, 2006 16:16

So welcome to Canberra, Australia! For the benefit of those who have never visited the Nation's capital, I have decided to introduce you, via my blog, to various aspects of Canberran life.

Today's guest is: THE BUS

That's me waiting at Civic Bus Interchange. I'm waiting for the number 33 bus. I'm also quite cold. My jacket sleeve got in the way of a perfectly good photographic composition. Damn winter!

Those are buses! Orange buses!

Still waiting. That's my waiting head next to the waiting bus timetable.

That photo is taken from inside the bus, of an Australian man waiting outside the bus. Or walking. But most probably waiting.

Important bus information.

That's me in the garden at home, after getting off the number 33 bus. That's how you look after a bus trip from Civic to Campbell. Exciting stuff folks!

In other more functional news:
- I am well;
- I am a little cold, but I am well;
- The plane flight was long and boring;
- My sister looks so well and is very happy. This in turn makes me happy;
- Our dog still runs around the house like a mad thing;
- Canberra looks different, there are construction sites everywhere;
- Canberra people still look the same: business men in suits and sunglasses, and young girls wearing too much black eyeliner;
- I bought a stripey skirt and an orange jumper;
- Damo got back home yesterday;
- Gus' café still makes a great latte;
- The sun is shining;
- The world is an incredible place!

Love, Australian style!
Take care of yourselves, don't get sunburnt or fat.
