Playground Rules

My family is blessed to have three parks within a two block radius of our house. Park #1 is a grassy open square with some trees lining the perimeter. Yep, I don't hover at the playground, except I did have a scare recently: Sapphira followed Rowan up a climbing structure very much not meant for toddlers and got to the slide at the top and decided, no, no slide (she never likes slides), so hey! look! I'll get down over here! Except "over here" was the top of a rock-climbing wall so she was well above my head (at least six feet up, maybe more) and ready to step out into thin air! I could maybe have caught her after she fell but I couldn't reach her from the ground. A kind grandma grabbed her by the shoulders till I could climb up myself and get her down. Scared her being touched by an unfamiliar adult but given the alternative....

I think it's the first time I've had either of them able to get to the top of something and *not* safely down again themselves. So do I hover? Or just avoid that playground? It hasn't got any shade anyway...
