It is now official. I am going to have a summer internship in Bangalore, India. In fact, I am flying there on Monday.
What am I going to do in India? Honestly, I have no idea. Some kind of market research for a large consulting and outsourcing company called Infosys. As it turns out, they have a fairly extensive internship program for which they pick around a hundred people from just about everywhere out of over 10,000 applicants. I guess I should consider myself lucky. As far as I know, I will be in charge of project #2 in Automotive and Aerospace. In the meantime, you can go to their site and watch the "Intern Experience" video to see what it's all about. I'll find out how true this promotional clip is to life in about a week.
The plan is that I will spend just over two months working and then my wife will join me in Bangalore in early August. We will go traveling around the country for two weeks and then head to Bangkok, Thailand for a week.
I'll try to keep you posted, as much as time and third-world country's telecommunications would allow.
