Anyone else kinda disappointed with the lack of trade deadline deals? Who is this Jody Gerut guy? Everything I read about the trade normally just talks about Lawton & I already know about him. I just hope this Gerut guy is a smarter base runner & a better fielder than Lawton.

Not sure about being disappointed, but I was rather surprised there weren't more trades made. I don't know anything about Gerut either, but one can only hope he is a good player and fits the team nicely.

I'm hearing he is a good defensive player, so that is good. I'll miss Lawton's bat, because he was the most consistent hitter on the team this year with Bay. But Matt Lawton's defense was just horrible at times.

But doesn't anyone else notice the fact that in 10 games with the Cubs, he was horrible offensively.... and NOW he's on the DL with a knee injury? All we did was send Lawton and some $$$ away for a player who was on the DL for them too!

I noticed that. It seems to be something that Dave Littlefield specializes in (making bad trades with the Cubs). I think the Pirates should have went after that Matt Murton guy or someone else. I was happy to see Lawton go though. He was a terrible defensive player & poor base runner. At least now I am not as worried when a ball is hit to right field.

Well, yeah, with McClouth out there now, he's doing a pretty good job I think. Last night, he seemed to have done pretty well at least. Still, I think we should just steer clear of trades involving the Cubbies.
