OK well ppls, i've gotta tell you I've finally gotten "unhyperified" after watching the last lain dvd, and I've got some questions. It is a device of irony. Also, it signifies something, but I can't quite put my finger on it...something about psyche, or something...

I agree; it's ironic. Delightfully ironic. When I saw that, what I thought was that they must have reached their conclusions about dying *after* they were dead...Chisa discovered that being dead wasn't so much fun after all, but the accela kid didn't have any problem with it.

It could have to do w/ the fact that Chiisa wasn't in the Wired when she died, but the raver guy was "on the brink of the singularity"--when in Cyberia the line between the real world and the Wired is blurred, and the usage of drugs alters one's morphogenetic field to coincide more closely with the Wired.
