I wrote a Harry/Draco fic for hd_erised. The mods were nice and everyone who responded was nice, and it was nice writing for my requester and my gift was extra nice! So thanks, everyone.

I wanted to thank icmezzo. She beta'ed my 120,000 words of fic in about four days. And probably she only took that long because I sent it to her in pieces out of order, not ( Read more... )

*hearteyes* It was absolutely my pleasure. I adore you and your work and working with you. (And editing, let's be honest.) So it's a fantastic match all around.

I want to go back and read it just for fun at some point soon and. I look forward to curling up with your Draco again. (Unlike Harry, I'll not be charged for the time...)

Thank you for the very nice note. <3

Wow. Now that's a good beta. I'm not that quick.

Your fic was also amazing, so I'm not surprised she was able to devour it. :)

I only just realized that Tristan is the name of a famous wooer-for-someone-else-who-falls-in-love-himself-by-mistake, which seems sort of appropriate for Maskeraded Draco here.

There is a Welsh version of Trystan and Ysellt which ends with the two of them living together - King Arthur gets Trystan and King Mark to agree to share Ysellt's time - she will be with one of them when the leaves are on the trees and with the other when the leaves are off the trees, and since Mark is her official husband, he gets to choose. He chooses when the leaves are off the trees because he figures the nights are longer in winter. And Ysellt says "Blessed be the judgement and he who gave it," and sings:

"There are three trees that are good,
holly and ivy and yew;
they put forth leaves while they last,
and Trystan shall have me as long as he lives." (In "A Celtic Miscellany")
