On saying "Okay" a lot: infryq June 15 2011, 19:52:05 UTC
I can sortof imagine that being a totally powerful and enabling thing depending on who you're saying it to. Sometimes in feedback sessions people get frustrated and start tapping their wishlist, you know, the one they've decided is full of things that are impossible... "I don't know what to do. I feel like what I really want is X, but there's no way that's ever going to--" "Okay. Let's do it. Let's make it happen." "... !!!"

On the other hand, if it's always someone being unreasonable, all "Watch this bee for me while I update my facebook" "Okay" is maybe not so empowering.

I say OKAY alot at work as well, but it's in a "OKAY, that has nothing to do with anything. WTF is your point?"

Wow. Me too. On all of it. To include the evening in the wee hours of the morning. Back on Sleep Shifts 1 and 2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets home wiped out and goes to sleep immediately.

Though I don't say "Okay" that much. I'm starting to sound like my co-workers, which means that my new favorite phrases are "looky here", and "got it". They also sound like me, which means the phrase "I'm just sayin'" is pretty heavily utilized! One big happy dysfunctional family, that's us...
