This year, xmas was a bit different. I spent the 24th and 25th with Megan's family, which was interesting and not as uncomfortable (at least for me) as I thought it was going to be. I think all went well... we spent the 26th and morning of the 27th with my parents ( Read more... )

That's awesome about your bro. My sister doesn't go as far as to correct my folks, btu she's certaintly gotten the hang of it herself.

My depression largely left me when I left school. It was coupled with the knowledge that I was about to get my chest surgery (as I had to wait a bit longer than you did afte starting T) but the number one thing that seemed to help (prior to the surgery) was getting a job and being stealth there. The beauty of making money and making a whole network of friends that didn't know really helped the self-esteem. That and by then I'd been on T over 2 years so the puberty-induced depression was also coming to its natural end. How long have you been on T now? I found I was depressed the 1st two years of both my HRTs (estrogen and testosterone).

Steve is actually my step-father, but I realize that I didn't mention that in my post, so it's easily confused. I also started HRT after top surgery (not long after, three weeks to be exact).

I've been on T for ... just over 7 months. I keep forgetting that I'm putting myself through a second puberty, so it's good to have a reminder that hormones ARE involved in depression. I think I was on such a high from actually having top surgery and starting T that I've just now started to calm down and return to reality, so to speak.

Foolish me for assuming, makes an ass out of me every time. I apologise.

Sorry I forget you did surgery 1st. Well then definitely give yourself a break for the depression. The kicker will be if you're unlucky like me an menopause doesn't just happen on the side. I had it hit me like a brick wall. The oddest things was being able to tell which mood swings were due to T and which were due to menopause lol But hopefully you will be like most guys and you won't even know it's happeing :)
