I am FLIPPING OUT over this! HANK/MARCY!!! Or close enough to it! I need to go to bed now so I'm not a complete zombie at school tomorrow BUT I reserve the right to come back and reply to this comment with a MASSIVE COMMENT about how AMAZING this is. So watch this spot ;)

Haha, yay! I'm so glad! This was a really encouraging first comment to receive, let me tell you. Anyway, I would love to hear anything more you have to say about it, thank you! I'll keep an eye out. ;)

Yes, you can! And as soon as I've got an hour or so of free time tonight, I'll be able to return the favor, whee!

Heh, don't look forward to it that much! When I was going to bed last night I thought of something I'd missed out and nearly loaded the laptop up again to add it in but couldn't be bothered.

Stupid muse!

Yeah, I feel you there. I think that's why I'm (a) glad my stories always seem to flow all out in a single night, and (b) terrified of ever posting that gigantic XF fic I keep plugging away at. That one has just taken so long, in so many fits and starts... it scares me!

I generally stay away from fanfiction, but I had to read this one, because I know that whatever you create turns out amazing, and I'm so glad that I did, because it really was beyond fantastic. Your portrayal of the characters was absolutely perfect. *applauds loudly*

Aww, that's about as flattering as it gets! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and letting me know you liked it, sweetie. :)

Okay.. this.. I have no words to tell you how much I liked it, woman. This part made me smile like crazy:

Marcy wrinkled her nose. "You'd better shorten that, or you're both toolier than my screwdriver."

"It wasn't my idea," he said quickly, but still with a trace of that laugh in his voice. He couldn't seem to stop smiling, his eyes crinkling in a sweet way at their corners. "It means 'to bind'. I could go for a screwdriver about now," he mumbled to himself vaguely, in that way he had of taking a pun or an entire conversation too far.

The way you see into Hank's head (and heart) is so incredibly in character. Are you sure you're not one of the writers of the show?? XD Anyway, the screwdrivver thing made me laugh like mad. And then:

"Score one for Auntie Smurf ( ... )

Oh yay, this is such lovely, meaty feedback -- the best kind! :D

I had a lot of fun writing that scene in the maternity ward, I'm glad it shows. There wasn't much dialogue in the fic overall (much like my first Cali fic, actually, lol), so that was really my one main shot to work with them both.

Thank you again so much for reading and leaving such a wonderful comment dear (and THEN pimping it in your own LJ!), I'm so flattered.

Hehe, meaty feedback indeed. I would have quoted all my favorite parts, but I don't think LJ permits to post so much in a comment.

I love this. It's beautifully written, and I think you really get Marcy; some of those lines Ican see her saying aloud in my head. The Hank/Marcy ship is made of win, though Hank and Karen will always be 'the two' for me. Hank is captured so well in this too - it really is DD I'm seeing in my head reading this. Great job.

That's such a relief to me, like you wouldn't even believe. When you think about it, we don't know nearly as much about Marcy as we do about Hank, but I love her like crazy and wanted to take a shot at her. Getting anywhere near an "in-character" area is definitely a success in my mind. Like you, despite the many issues I have with Karen, she is Hank's #1 lady, much as I do love Marcy. But it was still fun to step outside that line for a bit to play. ;)

Aw I'm glad. Though seriously - you should worry, it's good. We don't know as much about her, but she's such a strong character - she seems very what you see is what you get, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Playing with that was so good too.

Incidentally, when I'm a published author do you want to do a dust jacket for me??

Awesome, you got it! That is, that I also wanted to play with how up-front Marcy appears to be. She does often seem to be very "what you see is what you get," and yet in the two seasons we've known her she's fallen into sexual and drug experimentation, which definitely suggests some interior issues. I had fun playing around in there for a bit, too.

Hah! Believe me, you could get much better people working for you at that point! I'm flattered that you'd ask, though. ;)
