Quantum Kavanaugh

Schrödinger’s cat is famously in a box in an unknown state - dead or alive. The cat’s state is not “partially dead” - it is not dead in any part until the box is opened and the fact is known.

The American presumption of innocence should be in some respect similar. When an allegation is made, the accused is not “partially guilty.” He or she is not ( Read more... )

"Why does it suddenly matter after thirty years? He was a stupid boy at the time!" I thought. With more data, I have come to the conclusion that he didn't even do anything. Some of your points may not hold up with women who have been raped or abused, but Blasey's claims do not hold up with me. I was abused as a child, and raped in 1979 and 1986. I don't remember exact places and dates, but after years of counseling, I can say that it no longer matters. The type of counseling matters. The most effective hit me as, "So that happened, now what are you going to do about it?" My value does not depend on what others do. It depends on what I do.

As with the Clarence Thomas hearings, which I remember well, I see this as merely the opposing party's attempted interference with Supreme Court appointments. They are gasping for breath. They know that a court that obeys the Constitution will severely limit their ability to legislate from the Bench.

My "reply in the email" doesn't work, I just discovered. A long reply to you is gone.

In short, I am chagrined at what you went through, impressed by your handling of the aftermath, and wish you every success.

Thank-you, becoming a victim is a choice. When one believes herself a victim, it merely opens the door for victimization.

She should be found guilty of perjury and sent to prison (along with the other lying cows). The left has been wildly succeeding at ruining peoples' lives over the most minor of issues -such as mildly racist tweets- and they shouldn't be able to just make stuff up. If this gets by, plan on seeing them do it constantly.

You're exactly right, though I would not be quite so harsh. They've taken down General Flynn and campaign flunky Papadapolous on minor misstatements or misremembering. Sine of Blasey's statements are at least at this level, and done with malice besides.

But better yet, I think, just shut this down, or (as you say) this technique will be applied constantly. We are currently incentivizing the worst of behaviors. And destroying the presumption of evidence.

On a tangent:
The body of Erwin Schroedinger was recently found in a box; apparently he was clawed to death....

Could he have been revived with a probabilistic catatonic?

"Chairman Grassley, Ranking Member Feinstein, Members of the Committee. My name is Christine Blasey Ford. I am a Professor of Psychology at Palo Alto University and a Research Psychologist at the Stanford University School of Medicine."

The above is the one time she mentions she is a "RESEARCH Psychologist" and that is exactly the designation that used to be presented on her profile page at Stanford. She simply has not claimed to be a licensed psychologist with the permission to treat patients. Are you claiming California Law does not make that distinction?

What she claimed is exactly against California law, yes. And it is false, which is why the school scrambled to change it in the last day or so.

You cannot claim to be a "research psychologist" unless you are, in fact, a psychologist. She is not.

As far as I can discern, §2909 says you're wrong.
