Just got finished watching Titanic with my husband and kids. It seemed like the right thing to do on the 100 year anniversary of the sinking. I had to share this special moment.
Oh man, it's been years since I saw Titanic! I need to watch it again, although it will probably depress me because I know it'll end sad lol. Glad the boys seemed to at least somewhat like the movie, I'm not sure my brother would even sit through the whole thing as movies he likes are usually either comedy (lots of 'crude humor', which mostly isn't my thing) or action based, so that's awesome!
Males don't appreciate the film like females do near as much. My boys liked it, but didn't really 'get' it probably for the simple reason that they're young. They will see it again when they're older and I can judge their reactions better.
Though I do (or did) know some males back in the day who were big fans. At least three come to mind. Two of them loved the historical accuracy probably more than the fictional story. The third was young and I'm not exactly sure what he loved about the film. The majority of fans are female, which doesn't surprise.
It's funny, whenever I mention the film Titanic people instantly think of Jack and Rose. But instead I am immediately thinking of the history of the beautiful ship's maiden (and only) voyage across the Atlantic and those that perished with her. RIP
