Karma is a bitch

For many, many years, I have told people that I have great teeth and rotten gums. Well, it's the absolute truth, but today I'm finally paying for the rotten gums.

Now, the thing is that my gums have always bled. Even since I was little. So, it's been normal for me to deal with bleeding gums while flossing, brushing, doing anything that gets anywhere near them.

So, unfortunately, between the diabetes, the medicines because of the diabetes, my laziness and everything in between, my gums have finally decided that they're going to have it out with me. I now have a periodontist who I'll probably be visiting on a continual basis for at least several months if not more. The dental appointment that I was supposed to have today got canceled and replaced by a periodontal cleaning of the bottom row. Which was not a problem for me and my hard mouth, but I know the noise alone would have probably sent a number of you running.

I have to admit that I've never understood how to floss until today (sad, yes, but true). So, perhaps it will help with the problem.

I also have 5 loose teeth. Not falling out, per se, but moving. He asked me if I clenched my jaw, but I have no real idea if I do. However, as g_shadowslayer pointed out, I get pissed off a lot at the job, so I could very well be clenching my jaw in anger. Sigh...

They're talking possible grafts, bone rebuilding, etc. I'm just not thrilled.

But I guess this is what I get for bragging about my teeth.
