Bad day

Jan 29, 2010 23:11

So, today was a bad day at work and in the last few minutes before I took off, I found a rather snippy note from my youngest sister. The background being thus:

With all that went on in November, I didn't have any use or lose around the holidays, so I didn't take off. On top of that, g_shadowslayer's mother's doc kept calling at any time from 5:30am - 6:30am, ( Read more... )

The only bit of "negligence" I'll put on myself is that I didn't call the Sunday after Christmas to wish them a merry Christmas, but beyond that, they're overreacting. And I told my youngest sister that I was sorry that I was taking my bad day off on her, but she really shouldn't have gotten so shirty in her answer back to me (at, again, the wrong address, even though my response to her last note gave her the current address in it). As far as I'm concerned I'm done with it and if she gives me a nasty reply back, I'll just delete it.

It's good in its way. That they're worried and looking out, but at the same time, they jumped on this way too fast without checking all the possibilities before calling the cops. My dad has all the phone #s, etc, so if they were that worried, why not call me at work (my youngest sister has)? Or try all the phone #'s I have? I just hope this is the end of it. I won't keep beating a dead horse right now.

Oh for pete's sake. What did she want? Why did she use the wrong email address?

She said it was the one that popped up on her and because they're similiar she just used it. I told her that most browsers will hang onto anything that similar until either you type something different or you choose one. Obviously she just chose one at random, so I get no messages where I usually would look for them.

I mean, yes, I could have tried calling Sunday which is the only time Dad leaves the phone on (for 1 hour), but I was trying to catch up on sleep and I figured that Sharon, et al would probably be calling at that time, too, if they didn't get through at Christmas. So, yes, I was a little negligent here, but it's not all my fault and I"m pissed off that they're reacting like this.

So she's getting snippy because you didn't call at Christmas?

No, she's getting snippy because I didn't answer her emails and that she used the wrong address because it's similar to the one I use.
