Now I've always been one to stand up for The Darkness and their securing of the lost art of giving music fans a bit of fun in their listening. They hit a niche and sold a load of records on the basis that they made music which no-one thought they cared about any more, but actually did. It's cheesy, but it's fun ( Read more... )

I haven't heard it yet so I can't judge, this doesn't sound promising though..
I was really looking forward to seeing what they could come up with this time around. Why's it so piss poor?

I will always love The Darkness for having one of the stupidest lyrics known to mankind: "Got a one-way to ticket to hell and back."
That's a return ticket he's just described there, surely?

I think that's the joke. I've no problem with the lyrics, because they've always done that quirkily and with more than a little humour. It's just that the song has nothing to like about it.

Nah, I disagree. They do what they do extremely well, and hit the market at the right time. But if they'd released this single instead of I Believe In A Thing Called Love, they'd be nowhere.
