Eye update, part 2

Feb 18, 2011 19:55

Just got back from seeing the ophthalmologist and it's looking like I won't have to have surgery after all. I'm not out of the woods yet, though, so still need to take it really easy and I go back in another week for another followup which should determine it for certain one way or the other.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

Mmm, in most situations, surgery's something to be regarded as only to be undergone if strictly necessary (or, I suppose, desired, in the case of elective surgery), especially when it comes to futzing around with delicate portions of the anatomy.

.. eyes, people, eyes.

That's why I'm so glad to hear that it looks like I won't need it. The fracture isn't big enough and the muscles that are on the bottom of my eye aren't trapped by it. There is still a chance that another change could happen that would indicate surgery, but that would happen in the coming week if it's going to and she didn't expect it in my case. :-D

Believe me, I'm more than happy to NOT have any futzing around with that delicate portion of my anatomy. A hockey stick did quite enough of that already.
