It was on this date 20 years ago that I arrived here in the Bay Area which was the first place I ever visited that really felt like home. My only regret is not moving here sooner than I did

You moved to the Bay, and I emerged fully matriculated. ^_^ (Although it'd be another two years until I wound up with one of the coolest jobs I've had, over at Trilobyte. You know a job's going to be good when you're asked to come in on your first day as the red panda you've mentioned to them beforehand =:)
So, what's the new gig? Can you tell us anything without having to kill us? Good commute, hopefully. (As you know, I don't drive - if I get around to getting a license, I'd really only want to drive for fun, not necessity)
Good luck on it, anyway - not that you need it. ^_^ An income's never a bad thing, but if you're enthused about it, that's really what counts. I do sort of wish mine had more optimisation, but that's not far off - then, I'll be able to get into SIMD and OpenCL. =:9 Even now, it's a pretty damned nifty project - if it works out as well as well hope, and is mathematically indicated, this will be where the post production industry heads. Even now, I'm reeling at the potential extent of its sheer usefulness in

At a small company you may have heard of called HP. I've been hired as a EE designing the next generation of hardware used in their Enterprise Security Products division. I'm going to be designing hardware that sits behind multiple levels of physical security used by banks and financial institutions to secure things like your PIN code at ATMs. ;-)
