Taking into account that I watched the episode after having been awake for over 20 hours, but OMG THAT WAS THE BEST EPISODE EVER.
Okay, granted, "The Labyrinth of Gedref" still has the top spot, but this one has to be AT LEAST THE SECOND BEST EPISODE EVER. Arthur going on a solitary (yet not so much) quest to the barren ~waste land~ of the Fisher King, Merlin and Gwaine going after him to help out and almost end up making out by the campfire. Grettir the Bridgekeeper = ♥. Gwen finding out about Morgana! Why can't every episode be equally epic, oh show?
I wonder if it's significant that Merlin didn't exactly heal the Fisher King but helped him die. Giving him peace and putting an end to his suffering must mean something, not to mention Merlin being the One Chosen to do it. The way the Fisher King phrased it, it almost sounded like Merlin is the Once and Future King. Or maybe it's Arthur and Merlin both. Two sides of the same coin, right?
Arthur, Merlin and Gwaine = Courage, Magic and Strength. IT IS CANON. GRETTIR SAID SO.
Water from the lake of Avalon! I admit, I teared up a little at that bit.
It's official now: Gwaine/Merlin, I ship it. *HEARTS*

here p.s. Dear Alice Troughton, please to be directing all the episodes next series, kthnkxbai.
The title for next week's episode "Love in the Time of Dragons" may be my all time favourite LOL-tastic title yet. Alas, based on the trailer, the episode will most likely not involve the knights of Camelot + Gwaine + Lancelot finally getting it on in the throne room with Merlin. Ah well.
