This is probably the longest I've ever gone without updating. My last post seems to be from October. Oops? So, I thought I could do one of these year-in-review type of memes to try and get my posting mojo working again.
Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?
Boardwalk Empire (which makes me hate the world and life in general but does it so well I can't stop watching), Ringer (which filled the soap-drama sized hole in my life nicely), Game of Thrones, The Hour and Parks and Recreation. I'm probably forgetting some, I always do.
Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
I haven't watched any of Glee after season 2 ended, but I probably will marathon the current season at some point. Also, I doubt I'll be watching Misfits next series, unless they think of something completely different or just have it be about Kelly being her awesome self.
Your main fandom of the year?
Heh, well I did rediscover Supernatural early last year, after having fallen out of love with it sometime during season 3 and stopped watching mid to late season 4. So that's been fun! As far as fanfic and vids are concerned, last year for me mostly consisted of Dean/Castiel, Sam/Dean and all possible variations thereof. ALL THE SHIPS.
Your favorite film watched this year?
I really, really loved The Rise of the Planet of the Apes (just David Hewlett's bare arms were worth the ticket price), and of course, X-Men First Class was lovely. Not perfect *cough*gender/race!fail*cough* but overall I enjoyed it.
Your favorite book read this year?
”The Vintner's Luck” by Elizabeth Knox. ♥
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Parts of Misfits. True Blood never really took off this season.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
The first half of series 4 of Merlin and parts of the second half as well. I haven't squeed as much since series 1.
Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
I can't think of one.
Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
I have no idea what new is supposed to come out this year. I did watch the pilot for that Showtime show with Kristen Bell in the cast, but unfortunately it sucked. A lot.
Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?
BBC's The Hour. Everything about it. The cast, writing, set-design, score etc. I was so happy when they renewed it.
Your fiction boyfriend of the year
Um. All the characters Mark Sheppard played?
Your fiction girlfriend of the year
Lix Storm from The Hour. And not just because she could drink me under the table and still go on to do a subversive news piece and shake the core of the establisment. Anna Chancellor is hot.
Most looking forward to in 2012:
At the moment, probably more Game of Thrones on my tv screen! I'm a bit torn about Spartacus: Vengeance due to there being no more Andy Whitfield. But, then again. More Lucy Lawless.
Maybe later I'll do the non-fannish personal meme as well!
