Suggestions?

So my aunt's getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid. Totally cool, way happy for her, and absolutely flattered. However, I've never done this before and I'm starting to get nervous. I don't want to wear a dress, but I don't want to be one of those totally uncompromising people since it's not "my special day" and blah, blah, blah. So I ( Read more... )

help! (and questions) eeviolet February 22 2008, 01:50:49 UTC
Okie dokie...so before I can offer any help, I have a few questions:

1) What color has your aunt chosen?
2) What kind of dress (long, short, etc.) has she chosen?
which leads me to me next question -
3) What kind of dress would you feel most comfortable in? (As comfortable as you can feel in a dress) Could you possibly suggest this to your aunt if she has something else in mind?
4) When is she getting married? (I'm thinking different seasons warrant different kinds of clothing...)

Anyway, that's a start. :-)

well, here's what my cousin and I have come up with o far (imagine them in "mocha"):

or

Honestly, I can't complain-- my cousin and I have a similar sense of style, so all is well. She's getting married in June, so the dresses are really not that bad and weather-appropriate and inexpensive. They're still dresses though... :-(

is this the cool aunt who gave you the pantsuit you wore for your thing senior year? i feel like regardless, it's something you should bring up to her, see what she thinks. otherwise, blackmail a tailor to make the perfect custom suit for you. i'm sure you can find one with skeletons in the closet.

Lol I'll work on that. I know a guy that makes his own pants... it can't be all that hard to make a suit, can it? :-)
