This weekend was the annual “Tag des offenen Denkmals” all over Germany (with the exception of Cologne which celebrates it next weekend due to this week’s marathon). Again I took this opportunity to explore Hamburg a bit. Yesterday I stayed north of the river and started my day with a destination befitting this year’s topic: colors.
Not sure if it was the geographer or historian in me who was the giddier one when I stumbled over J.E. Fullerton's maps. I also enjoyed some of these episode placecards quite a bit.
I have loved Nathalie Merchant's song since I heard it for the first time over ten years ago. I always thought it would make for a fantastic fan vid one day and now it has :-)
I admit, I have always been a DC reader, preferring Batman, Catwoman and Teen Titans, not to mention Sandman, Fables and a few others, before sliding into the (sometimes) edgier indie comic scene

This morning, due to today being such a gorgeous spring day, I decided to take an extra-long “lunch break”. In the end said break was almost 4 h long and I walked about 6-7 km through the Karo and Schanzen Viertel

Well here's a couple more street art shots that I took. This time in Hamburg, there is plenty to be found both in Ottensen and Bahrenfeld if you know where to look. Not to mention that most of what you find - aside from the typical tagging - is pretty darn good
