Okay, so, my Dad is going to help me build a new computer over spring break, since mine seems to be essentially dying. He's a Systems Engineer, and does a lot with circuitry and programming and such, but he's never built an entire computer before ( Read more... )

Unfortunately I don't know much about computers. That said, I do know that newegg is pretty awesome, and normally has good prices and super-fast shipping.

Haha, yea. That's why we're getting everything out of there. But even super-fast shipping won't do any good if I can't get it ordered xP Especially since I now need a new video card D:

She also recommended www.tigerdirect.com as a good shopping site, because "[they] will not allow you to buy the parts to build a computer if they don't go together, and are really good about suggesting parts and helping you set a budget. I had nothing but good experiences with them."

So there you have my friend's opinion.
