If you must describe a Quidditch-toned stomach, it is taut not taught.

Taut - adj
1) Pulled or drawn tight; not slack.
2) Strained; tense: nerves taut with anxiety.
3) a) Kept in trim shape; neat and tidy.
b) Marked by the efficient, sparing, or concise use of something, such as language or detail

That. And people who use the word "taunt" when they really mean "taut".

As it: Pull the rope taunt.

Ewwwwww - thank gosh I haven't seen that one...yet.

I know they are simple slips, but it tosses me right out of the story. How hard is it to have someone else take a look at your fic?

I had a HUGE discussion with my ex about that. I swore up and down and even threatened to get a dictionary but he capitualated then, but not without glowewring at me redly, and NOT apologizing.

I've some damn good stories in which there were some pretty awful spelling errors and word confusions. And I can only think, "I wish I had that great of an imagination to create such a plot...!"
