I love all the discussions about HBP that have been posted. I have jumped in a few, but stayed out of most.
I have only gone through the book once, in my power-read over the weekend. I have not had the chance to go back and look at anything since then, but I keep wondering about the similarities between both Draco and Dumbledore petrifying Harry under his invisibility cloak. Was the first incident just to show that Harry is basically helpless in that situation so that when it happens during the climax, we know there was nothing he could do to help?
I also love that we now know more about the use of underage magic and how it is "regulated" by the Ministry of Magic. Seems fairly slipshod though. I mean, if it is up to the parents in most cases, then why all the dire warnings and the trial for Harry? Gee, in a magical house you might get yelled at but in a non-magical house you get threatened with expulsion? Just a tad unequal.
