Hey, Lisa Schwartzbaum? Your reviews consistently suck. Dial it back a notch, hon - save the scathing criticism for a movie *not* based on a cheesy, campy Disneyworld ride. I mean, come on - it's about *pirates

I know, I didn't realize how much I missed y'all til I came back here and saw everyone's recent posts! *hugs*
As for the snake handlers... yeah. I just need the traditional "I do" thing, you can leave the goat blood and holy water at home, sir. Lord. I can't imagine what our ceremony would be like if we went with him.
Well, as I've said before, this chick's going to Vegas! I'm a Christian and everything, and I'm sure the whole church wedding thing is swell, but I just don't want to have deal with crazy crap like the stuff in your post. I'll just get some guy dressed like Elvis to ask the questions and be done with it.
Whew! Sorry, I get a bit carried away. *g*
Since you're obviously brave enough to do it the old fashioned way, I hope you find someone laid back to perform your wedding. You'll be under enough pressure, I'm sure.

Hey, thanks!
Yeah, the Spiritual Component is the Boy's idea. I don't really care either way, and I figure he's letting me plan everything else, so I'll give him this. If it were up to me, I'd have our lesbian hippie friend (newly ordained for these purposes) do it, but he's all "No. Way. In. Hell."
Good luck on the 10K and with the wedding stuff. I didn't know Missouri Synods were that strict. Yikes! I was raised Episcopalian -- they allow anything as long as you follow proper etiquette. ;)
TAR! Yes, we must dish tonight. I thought last week was going to be the non-elimination. You're right -- no way on earth that this week is not non-elimination.
I know! *dancing* It's all because of Phil. I love that there is a reality TV category. But answer me this - in the miniseries category, how the hell did Manor House not get nominated? Did they miss the deadline or something?
Oh, and the dish is totally on. Do you meet up with anyone anywhere in particular?
What is Manor House? Did I manage to miss something good again?!
I've just been meeting up with you and Miss T and Shannen and Kristen here on LJ. I can start an AIM chat room, though. Or maybe MSN? Do you have a preference?
I'm going to do my damnedest to make sure the chicklet has a fabulous belated birthday weekend. I'm even making her a pie.
Is that why you were asking me if I like pie? *snerk*
"Honey, Missouri Synods are one step up from snake handlers".
I [heart] your cousin. Did he tell you he wore cowboy boots and a leather sport coat to the Dixie Chicks concert? I felt so un-thematic.
So we're going to try our luck with the ELCA Lutherans and see what happens. Sorry for that really long story.
If you were getting married in the Twin Cities, I'd suggest the Lutheran church my great aunt used to attend; I assume they're pretty cool because they have a huge rainbow flag on the outside, now. *g*

Your experience with the pastor sounds...interesting. Maybe you should *try* snake handlers and see if they're any more lenient?

And TAR was nominated for an Emmy!
