I think what makes the conversations so nasty (and partisan) is that neither party wants to balance the budget -- they just have different priorities for where Government spends that money.

I know, right? Like a couple squabbling over the credit card bill and each other's expenditures... But not their own! They both should cut spending but each blames the other. Hypocrites!
