yuletart and sga_art_santa messages
Hello secret art givers, my messages are under the cuts. Since I don't have much in this journal to offer a clue on what I like, I'll ramble on a little in the hope it will be useful.
Yuletart
I'm a bit of a fannish butterfly, and have a big list of fandoms I love. I picked a number of fandoms to request (a large number of options - so I'm very curious to know what I've been matched in!) most of which I haven't seen a lot of art for. There are several other fandoms that I love, which have healthy art communities so I didn't list them (which hopefully explains why I didn't ask for either Supernatural or SGA.
I've never seen any art (other than official book covers) for the Foreigner, Lymond or the Vorkosigan books, so anything you did there would be squee worthy. I adore the heroes of each of these (Bren, Lymond and Miles respectively) plus my favourite character from the Vorkosigan books is Ivan. I like their canon romances where they have them, but also would love slash, if you feel that way inclined. I'm a One True Character girl, and find any relationships (gen, het or slash) which include my favourite to be interesting.
The other fandoms do have some art but I'd love to see some more. My favourite characters from the TV shows are listed and a favourite pairing in brackets or open shipping: NCIS:Tony & Abby (Tony/Gibbs), Dark Angel :Alec (Alec/Logan, Alec/Max), Torchwood: Jack & Owen (Jack/Owen, or Jack/9 or Jack/10), Highlander: Methos & Amanda (Methos/Duncan, Methos/Amanda or Methos/anyone), SG-1: Daniel& Vala(Jack/Daniel, Daniel/Vala), DueSouth : RayK (R/F or R/V), Firefly (Mal or Simon, with anyone, or Zoe/Wash), Farscape: John (John/Chiana or John/anyone), XFiles: Mulder (Mulder/anyone).
I love portraits, character studies, friendship, ship or slashy art. As you can see, I like SF, historical and fantasy, and procedurals, so I like the settings and the trappings of the genre. I like contemplative, or dramatic or happy art. Though if your style leads more to angst or humour, I wouldn't object.
Favourite Artists
Art-wise,I have a weakness for pretty, and for portraits. Of Historical art, I like Holbein, Bronzino, The pre-Raphaelites (esp Waterhouse) and Mucha (and art nouveau). I like a lot of different fantasy and SF artists including: Michael Whelan, Don Maitz, Alan Lee & Ted Naismith, Thomas Canty, Jody A. Lee, Jim Fitzpatrick, Julie Bell (google ought to turn up some works by these artists if their names aren't familiar). I like Manga-style art, though I'm not in any of the fandoms.

My favourite characters are John and Rodney, and any relationship or interaction between the 2 would be lovely. I asked for either character studies or portraits, or AU. I love AU, and SGA does great fic and art for AU - I'd like to see some more. I'm happy if you want to include any of the main cast or extras in the pic (Teyla, Ronan, Elizabeth, Zelenka, Carson, Lorne, anyone from SG-1). I like fantasy, SF and historical genres (see above for a list of some of my favourite fandoms or see my user info for ideas) and I'd love to see them in any of these settings. Above all, have fun! Do something you like and I'm sure to like it, too.
