This one was my assignment and did take some patience - not during the painting, but wanting to post it as soon as it was finished (v impatient then!)

Are you going to be doing any writing or art during your holidays - or have you got other plans?

I have plans to write, I just seem to be failing spectacularly. sigh. Things are not flowing at all, so it feels like pulling teeth. hmph.

Lovely picture! I can't comment on the likeness or the appropriateness of the style as I know nothing about this character. But I find it beautiful. Lovely composition, and the flowers are exquisite.

Thanks - it was a blast trying to adapt my style to Mucha's, and I had a lot of fun with the flowers!

I commented over at sga_art_santa already about how much I like this, but I just wanted to let you know how much it added to my enjoyment of the picture to read your summary about the meaning of the flowers - so very appropriate for Kate.

And I can understand you being impatient to post this - it really is beautiful!

Thank you again. I'm so pleased you liked the flower meanings, -I tried to pick suitable ones, and lucky they turned out to be pretty as well as meaningful. The note is whited out on the comm because of a small season 4 spoiler, but the "Highlight to read" bit isn't obvious so I doubt many people saw it.

I've had a bit of an SGA art attack lately, but I do paint in other fandoms, too - just warning you *g*

Thanks! It's an odd combination (SGA and Mucha), but I have a weakness for pretty things and will find any excuse to paint them *g*
