Wishing you all a wonderful 2009!

I've been involved in 2 End-of-Year art or Art/Fic etc exchanges this year.

The nominations are well deserved, but I have to do a little side squee here. I *love* the Lymond Chronicles, and until now, I thought I was one of three people who had read them. A fandom? Oh pretty please, share the details!! *blinks eyes like Puss-in-Boots*

I passed your links on to a friend who's even a bigger Lymond fan than me. I thought the Chronicles ended with 'Checkmate' however. Are you telling me that there's another in the series? And is it worth reading??

The Lymond Chronicles end with Checkmate, yes, but the lists cover Dunnett's other books, too (mostly concentrating on her historical books). Lymond and the Niccolo books are the most popular on the list.

King Hereafter is her standalone Macbeth book. It has all her usual intense sense of historical setting, and a couple of brilliant set-piece scenes, but I ultimately found it rather dull. YMMV. I liked the Niccolo books better than King Hereafter, but not as much as the Lymond books. On the other hand, I also like her quirky Dolly books (20th century detective series) but they are completely different than the rest of her work.
