I'm finding it pretty irresistable and charming. I know I said Dickensian, but that's mostly because everyone's read lots of Dickens. She reminds me more of Jane Austen. This really clever, witty, falsely humble, distinctly feminine narrator who's gossiping with the reader. I love it.
Oliver, miraculously, only would wake up once in the middle of the night and once in early morning (like, say, at 2 and at 6) its super awesome. although there was one night he just wouldn't go to sleep, but my parents stayed up with him so matt and becca didn't go insane
i can't wait to hear what you have to say about this book after you finish it. i bought it at the library sale last year because it looked intriguing, but it's remained on my 'to read' list because of the grad school issue. i'm trying to decide which will be my FIRST post-school book, once i'm done with my comps in two weeks.
